Top Local Schools attract both premium market and International buyers to North London and Hertfordshire.
With some of the best-performing schools in the UK situated within North London and surrounding areas, it’s a small wonder that the area attracts premium market and International buyers looking to give their children the best start in life.
Of the top 10 secondary and grammar schools in the UK, both the first and second placed schools are in North London, The Henrietta Barnett School in Hampstead and the Queen Elizabeth’s School in Barnet respectively one and two.
Local Comprehensive schools also feature in the UK’s top ten, with Dame Alice Owen’s School in Potters Bar at number one, Hasmonean High School for Girls in Mill Hill at number seven, and Yavneh College in Borehamwood at number eight.
Also making interesting reading is the published schools guide, looking at the best London boroughs for state schools. Schools in 20 London boroughs were rated based on the percentage of pupils that achieved grade 5 or above (between B and C in the old system) in English and maths GCSEs.
The best London Borough was Barnet, with 10 schools in the top 50, and three in the top five – The Henrietta Barnet School, Queen Elizabeth’s School, and St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School in Finchley.
Add to this the very notable and highly regarded public schools of Highgate School in London N6, North London Collegiate in Edgware.
Why premium buyers are moving to North London and Hertfordshire?
We are seeing increasing numbers of Central London and International buyers interested in moving to the area, initially attracted by the high quality of education offered as well as great communication networks.
With easy access to the city by both the Underground from Totteridge & Whetstone, Barnet and Mill Hill, and mainline trains from Brookmans Park, Cuffley, Hadley Wood, New Barnet, and Oakleigh Park, that can have commuters in Central London within 18 to 30 mins.
London airports including Heathrow, Luton, City, and Gatwick are also easily accessible by either the M25 motorway or by train.
